General Rules
Listed here are all rules pertaining to CNN Morning Challenge. CNN retains the right to change and modify these rules at any time, without direct notification to the users. Users should check this page regularly for any updates regarding the CNN Morning Challenge rules.
Although every effort is made to ensure that information in the CNN Morning Challenge game accurately depicts actual events, it is to be used as a guide only. In the event of incorrect
information, CNN assumes no liability for the typing, transmission and/or evaluation errors. In particular, CNN reserves its right to correct obvious errors, even after the event.
Prediction Grading Rules
Listed below are the specific prediction rules for “Morning Express Challenge” in conjunction with Morning Express with Robin Meade news program. General predicting rules are listed separately. CNN retains the right to change and modify these predicting rules at any time, without direct notification to the users. Users should check this page regularly for any updates regarding predicting rules. These rules do not restrict the ability of CNN to cancel a prediction opportunity or alter the opportunity grading, at any time, at their sole discretion. All decisions made by game administrators on play grading will be considered final for the purposes of this competition.
Pre-Show Predictions
Some prediction opportunities will be made available for predicting immediately following each broadcast of Morning Express with Robin Meade. Each pre-show prediction that is posted applies to the next upcoming Morning Express with Robin Meade broadcast. All pre-show prediction questions are closed at the beginning of the show that the predictions apply to and are resolved as the resolution to each question becomes known. The following is an example of a pre-show prediction that may be asked prior to a broadcast of Morning Express with Robin Meade.
“Will the Dow be up, down, or the same when Robin first checks in after the opening bell?”
– Users are able to predict whether the Dow will be up, down, or the same when Robin first checks in during
Morning Express with Robin Meade.
Options: <Up , Down , The Same>
In-Show Predictions
New in-show predictions are available for predicting during the course of the entire Morning Express with Robin Meade broadcast. In-show predictions are resolved when the resolution of the question becomes known. In-show predictions will be open for predicting for 60 seconds unless the resolution to the question becomes known before the 60 seconds elapse. The following is an example of an in-show prediction that may be asked during Morning Express with Robin Meade.
“McCain or Obama – who will be mentioned next during the show?” – Users are able to predict
which presidential candidate will be mentioned by any of the Morning Express crew next during Morning Express
with Robin Meade.

Contest Rules
OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
The Morning Express Challenge: Phase 4 (“Promotion”) is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., age 18 years or older, except employees, officers, directors and agents (and their immediate family and household members (whether or not related) of Cable News Network, Inc. (the “Sponsor”), LiveHive Systems (“Administrator”) and their parents, subsidiaries, divisions, participating vendors, distributors, and advertising and promotion agencies (collectively, with the Sponsor, the "Promotion Entities"). Void wherever prohibited by law. Promotion is governed by U.S. law and subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. By entering the Promotion, entrants agree to accept and be bound by all terms of these Official Rules and Regulations (“Official Rules”).
HOW TO REGISTER: Sponsor will be conducting the Promotion from March 2, 2009 through April 3, 2009 (the “Promotional Period”). The game play period (“Game Period”) will be Monday through Friday from 8:00:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (“ET”) to 10:00:00 am ET during the Promotional Period. To register participants must go to the Promotion website (the “Website”), during the Promotional Period, located at www.cnn.com/robin, click on the Promotion link and complete and submit the online entry form, including creating a screen name and password and inserting their email address, and date of birth. All registrations must be in the name of an individual person and a prize can only be awarded to the person whose name is on the winning entry. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means will be void. The Promotion Entities are not responsible for misdirected, incomplete, lost, late, illegible, undelivered, inaccurate or delayed entries, or for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions or other errors or problems which may limit or affect a person’s ability to participate in the Promotion, whether human, mechanical, typographical, printing, electronic, network or otherwise, relating to or in connection with the Promotion, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Promotion, the processing of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any Promotion-related materials. In the event of sabotage, acts of God, terrorism or threats thereof, computer virus or other events or causes beyond the Sponsor’s control, which corrupt the integrity, administration, security or proper operation of the Promotion, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend the Promotion. In the event of cancellation, Sponsor reserves the right to award prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring such cancellation. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the entrant ineligible. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Limit one (1) registration per person per day during the promotional period.
HOW TO PLAY: Entrants will play daily each week to correctly answer questions. Questions will vary in type and point value. For more detailed information on how points are accumulated and the values associated with each type of question, please visit the FAQ section of the Website.
HOW TO WIN:
Points Winners: The entrant with the most points at the end of each day of the week, Monday through Friday during the Promotional Period will be selected as winner (the “Point Winners(s)”). One (1) Point Winner will be calculated each day for a total of twenty-five (25) Point Winners. Point Winners will be calculated by Administrator and announced each day during the Promotional Period on the Morning Express with Robin Meade show. Point Winners may only win one time during the Promotional Period. If a Point Winner has previously won, the entrant with the next highest score will be selected as the Point Winner for that day.
Random Winners: One (1) winner will be selected by Administrator via random drawing each day during the Promotional Period from among all eligible entrants who’ve played the Promotion during the Game Period for that week (the “Random Winners”) (collectively with the Points Winners, the “Winners”) for a total of twenty five (25) Random Winners. Random Winners will be selected by Administrator and announced each day during the Promotional Period on the Morning Express with Robin Meade show. Random Winners may only win one time during the Promotional Period. If a Random Winner has previously won, an alternate Random Winner will be selected for that week.
The decision of the Administrator will be final and binding in all matters. The Winners will be confirmed by U.S. mail, e-mail and/or telephone and must meet all eligibility requirements including the timely execution and return of all necessary releases and documents (if any) required by Sponsor.
PRIZES:
Point Winners: Each Point Winner will receive a Morning Express t-shirt, an autographed picture of Robin Meade and a bookmark at Approximate Retail Value of Seventeen Dollars ($17.00). The total ARV for all Points Winner prizes is Four Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars ($425.00).
Random Winners: Each Random Winner will receive a Morning Express bookmark. The total ARV for all Random Winner prizes is Zero Dollars ($00.00)
Total ARV of Promotion is Four Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars ($425.00).
All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion. No substitution or transfer of prizes or cash redemptions permitted by the Winner(s). Sponsor reserves the right to substitute for any reason whatsoever a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater value, at their sole discretion. Prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either expressed or implied by the Sponsor. The Winners are responsible for the reporting and payment of all taxes (if any) as well as any other costs and expenses associated with acceptance and use of prize not specified herein as being awarded.
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS: By entering this Promotion, participants grant Promotion Entities and their designees the right, unless prohibited by law, to use their names, cities and states of residences, voices, pictures and likenesses, without compensation, notification or approval, for the purpose of advertising and publicizing the goods and services of the Promotion Entities and all matters related to the Promotion, in any manner or medium, now or hereafter known, throughout the world in perpetuity. Winners may each be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, tax acknowledgment form and, except where prohibited by law, a publicity release and return within five (5) business days of issuance of notification. Noncompliance within this time period or failure of potential winner to respond after three (3) notification attempts may result in disqualification and, at Sponsor’s discretion, an alternate winner may be selected. If: (i) any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, (ii) a potential Winner declines his or her prize, or (iii) a potential Winner fails to comply with any of the Official Rules as outlined herein, such potential Winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Promotion Entities expressly disclaim any responsibility and entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Promotion Entities from and against any and all claims, actions, demands and/or liability for injury, damage or loss whatsoever relating to or arising in connection with participation in this Promotion (regardless of the cause of such injury, damage or loss) and/or the delivery and/or subsequent use or misuse of any of the prizes awarded (including any travel or activity related thereto).
